In these episodes, Carlo, though ha had decided lo leave soccer for good, cannot resist the call of the playing field and enthusiastically starts scouting talented young players whom he then coachs with the moral rigour that sets him apart, instilling in them a healthy approach to the sport.

It is thanks to his fame as a skilled and honest coach that he is called on by the owner of the Juliana team to reverse the fortunes of the squad, which risks being demoted from the B to the C league.

Carlo agrees to return to professional coaching because he feels he can still contribute to improving the sport, but he finds himself faced with a set of unsavoury characters willing to put the fortunes of the players and the team at risk for their own unseemly interests. More than once he is tempted to simply walk away, but the courage of having no alternative leads him to struggle to revive his team' s dignity and its winning ways.
