Over a million young people from more than 160 countries around the world were welcomed by Pope Wojtyla. He inaugurated the gathering by greeting the young Italians in front of the Basilica of St. John Lateran, then moved to St. Peter's to greet the foreign arrivals. The film includes performances in St. Peter's Square by young dancers and musicians coming from all five continents.
