Code: 017555
The Italian Social Republic was created in September 1943, after the armistice signed with the Allies and Mussolini’s release, with the aim of continuing the policy of Fascism. The headquarter of the new Republic was in Salò, along the shores of Lake Garda, and its political centre was in Verona, where the Republican Fascist Party was restored. With the aim of going back to its original sense and to get the approval of people, the Republic of Salò fell into the hands of Germans and it disappeared in April 1945 with the end of the war in Italy.
