Every year since 1959 Lo Zecchino d’Oro has provided Italian children with specially composed songs.
Even though originally written for the youngest of viewers, over time these cheerful nursery rhymes and catchy tunes have become the heritage of generations; adults who were children when the festival first started and their children.
The ongoing interest generated by these songs some of which have become classics in their own right has led to the decision to “translate them” into the favourite medium of children: cartoons.
The task of endowing 12 of the most suitable songs with an even richer and more attractive raiment has been entrusted to some of the leading professional figures of the Italian animation industry. A new series in production.
