In the early 1920s Giacomo Puccini was at the height of his career: his talent as a musician was admired and acclaimed all over the world. Turandot is one of his well-known and more frequently performed operas, but Puccini died in 1924, before he could finish it. The documentary tells how Luciano Berio, after Franco Alfano, wrote the final of this masterpiece, in 2002. The first play of Turandot with Berio final took place in Amsterdam last spring, as Berio and orchestra conductor Riccardo Chailly tell us.
