Where’s the Fenice? Art Culture Music

Code: 010108

LA FENICE (The Phoenix) is the name of a legendary theatre. Built in Venice in 1792, the year of the end of millenarian Republic of San Marco, was completely destroyed by a fire in 1836. But like a phoenix, it rose from its ashes. But then, on the 29th January 1996, another fire burnt it down again. The documentary shows its splendour before the fire and shows the fire itself. The film clips have been selected from the many shots that were taken during that terrible night by operators coming from all over the world. The event is still extraordinary although grievous and terrible. And after a few years a new rising begins.
