From the opening lines of Natalia’s halffinished manuscript, “For almost a year now, I’ve worked as a prostitute. I have a law degree, and my father thinks I want to become a prosecutor,” the publisher Marco Blasetti is quite impressed. He asks for more chapters, and they are sent to him. While reading the chapter where a serial killer of prostitutes enters the story, Blasetti understands that Natalia is in danger as the novel has become quite autobiographical.
