“Me, Claudia”, the most complete documentary on the famous Italian actress Claudia Cardinale. Giordano Bruno Guerri, a historian of European repute, has dedicated his interest as a scholar and researcher to the figure of Claudia Cardinale, one of the myths of world cinema. To that of spoken language his preference has fallen upon that of images, entrusting himself to the direction of Pasquale Squitieri. Guerri’s intent is to compare the public and private life of the Artist with the characters she played in the films directed by famous international names, alongside actors and actresses of the highest standing, films shot in countries of varie culture, against a backcloth of the most significant events that have marked the politics, custom, and events over the last fifty years. This work thus sets out to conjugate the artistic and private life of this protagonist of our cinema, and currently also of theatre, with the problems she had to face and the decisive encounters that marked her outstanding adventure. A sort of film within films, Godard would say.
