Mero is a skilled worker at a shipyard and a single father. His son Lorenzo – born of as relationship he had with an Albanian girl – is his only reason for living. Mero’s dream is for the boy to become champion boxer and make up for Mero’s own mediocre career as an amateur fighter. With this goal, he subjects the boy to an obsessive training regime in an old warehouse transformed into a gymnasium, teaching him, day after day, to throw punches and to protect himself from the low blows of life. But the world he constructs around his son is a closed one, where each day resembles the next, offering nothing but work, school and training.
