After his wife's desertion, Gianni Rodinò, middle-aged cook, drowns his sorrows in wine. His only friend is Ginetto, a young thief who lives with him and who, after some misunderstandings, helps him to realize his life's dream: purchasing a railway wagon into disuse and turning it into a restaurant. Turi Ferro is an excellent, measured protagonist, Ninetto Davoli and Agostina Belli shine of nice ease.
