The discovery of an ancient reli off Capri brings Cosimo Rizzato, the rich head of a major charitable organisation, to the island. He knew Vittoria's parents, and he insinuates that Massimo, with whom Vittoria has lived these last three years perfectly in love, killed them. Meanwhile Reginella, Vittoria's grandmother, struggles with her late-blooming marriage while Carolina plots to regain her family's hotel. When Massimo finally discovers that it was a Cosimo who, out of jealousy, killed Vittoria's parents, the millionaire jumps to his death from an island cliff.
